Studies on preparing a calibrated hydraulic model of the distribution network of Qom city

Client: Qom Province Water and Wastewater Company
Contract start date: 2018-12-03
Brief description:
The issue of leakage in urban water distribution systems is important both economically, socially and in terms of environmental impacts. Therefore, dealing with it is necessary and inevitable. Losses in urban water distribution networks are mainly in the form of leakage from pipes and connections, and the management of this section can make a significant contribution to the reduction of water resources. Given the scarcity of water resources, controlling water loss by reducing leakage through pressure management is of particular importance.
According to the above contract, technical services and related studies are provided to prepare the implementation of the hydraulic model of the Qom city distribution network under existing conditions, verify the Water Gems model, calibrate the model, hydraulic analysis, and present a plan to improve and develop the Qom city network for equitable water distribution, optimal pressure, consumption management, and checking the amount of residual chlorine with the Water Gems model.
The Qom city distribution network has about 350,000 subscribers, a network length of 2,500 kilometers, 63 wells, 44 reservoirs in the circuit, and an area of about 16,500 hectares.
